Facade and Envelope Inspections

Building envelopes and façades help control internal air pressure, quality, and temperature, and are important assets for preventing damaging moisture and air leaks from entering a facility. Damaged and deteriorated envelopes and façades can lead to a decrease in a building’s insulation and energy efficiency.

Many buildings are difficult and dangerous to gain access to because of obstructions or building features. EagleHawk’s drone-enabled inspections minimize costs associated with accessing these areas while keeping individuals safely away from sources of danger during the inspection process.

Taking a proactive approach in having your building envelopes and façades inspected on a regular basis can save thousands of dollars on energy and repair costs by identifying and fixing the areas of concern before they become a severe maintenance issue. Through EagleHawk’s quick, accurate and affordable systematic approach, we can detect building envelope and façade issues safer, faster, and more efficiently than traditional inspection methods.

Proven Results

EagleHawk performed a drone-enabled inspection of the SUNY Administration Building in Albany, NY in 2017. One of the key items to be inspected was the historic ship weathervane atop the central tower of the building. The weathervane – which measures nearly 7 feet in length and 9 feet in height – is a replica of Henry Hudson's sailing ship, the Half Moon, that in 1609 sailed across the Atlantic Ocean, explored the North American coast as far south as the Outer Banks, and eventually sailed up the Hudson River, landing in present day Albany.

EagleHawk’s accurate and detailed inspection method captured high-definition visuals of the weathervane – which sits more than 235 feet high – and confirmed a long-standing myth that the weathervane was shot at and does in fact have a bullet hole through one of the ship’s sails.

EagleHawk Overcomes HIPAA Challenges to Perform Building Inspection for a Hospital

A Western New York hospital needed a better understanding of the condition of their building envelopes, including façades and roofs, to make effective and efficient repairs. However, one major hurdle for a healthcare facility is ensuring Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) rules and regulations are followed and patients’ privacy rights are protected.

Request the full case study to learn more about how EagleHawk worked closely with the hospital to overcome these challenges and complete a successful inspection.
